I found it difficult to give away these dollars for a few reasons. The first one that I forgot to take into account was that many people were paying with their credit cards. Giving them cash actually became an inconvenience because they had already decided to use a credit card. It was also difficult because the items cost more than just one dollar. Giving someone a dollar meant they still had to spend money to buy an item.

Hey Cameron I enjoyed reading through your blog post and watching your free money videos. It was funny to see how critical everyone was. People rejected the dollar and people took it however they all were skeptics. The ones that took it felt as though they owed you something and the ones that denied it acted as though you were forcing it upon them. You did a great job on this exercise.

Its cool that you did this assignment, first of all. Also i was surprised to see some people reject the dollar. I know if it was me, id take free money without a second thought. Especially if i have to do nothing in return. really good job on this assignment.
ReplyDeleteHi Cameron! I really enjoyed watching your videos. I think it's great that you decided to do it by the vending machines because people are definitely more eager to say yes to receiving a dollar. Although some rejected the money, the people that said yes were very pleased. I've watched other posts in which people had absolutely no luck in getting someone to accept the dollar. I'm glad that you were very genuine about the situation and didn't make i awkward for them. As strange as this assignment is I think that you handled it really well. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteHello Cameron. I think you definitely approached the right people who would most likely use a dollar on those vending machines. Also, your videos were quite humorous and you received diverse reactions. It looks as if you had a fun time handing out dollar bills. I happened to approach people who were extremely awkward except for the man who came off really friendly. Here is a link to my free money post. http://clarissaidos.blogspot.com/2016/02/free-money.html
ReplyDeleteHey Cameron,
ReplyDeleteGood strategy. What a better way to give out free money than doing it by the vending machines at school. It was somewhat funny how cool you seemed when you gave out the dollar, and seeing how people reacted. I think you did a great job at identifying a good location, and the need to have a door by these students. Your confidence level was excellent too. Keep it up!
