My opportunity idea has changed since the first video as I have switched my focus on the idea and effectiveness of MOSI to how changing locations can help the museum. I targeted a younger audience in some of my interviews as MOSI usually attracts younger attendees. My questions help get a sense of how the change in location would influence the consumers willingness and urge to visit the museum. Overall it was easy to see that everyone believes it would be beneficial for MOSI to move its location to downtown Tampa. This move would create more traffic for a museum that is currently struggling to attract attendees. I learned that people do not like to waste time driving to a venue and would rather save time by traveling a shorter distance. Convenience is key when attempting to attract consumers in general, but is specifically important in this scenario. My advice is to not feel awkward about giving these interviews because people really enjoy doing them. Make sure your volume is loud enough when interviewing as it sometimes does not come out as loud as you expect. Also think of questions that will force your customer to elaborate on their answer.
Hi Cameron. I enjoyed your interview. Having lived in Tampa before and frequently visit there, I couldn't agree more that MOSI should move downtown. I feel that it being near USF doesn't offer much benefit as much as it would if it were next to Channelside for instance. This would definitely help boost that area back up, and probably add more revenue for MOSI, which is what the city needs.
ReplyDeleteHello Cameron!
ReplyDeleteI have visited Tampa a few times and I can definitely relate to MOSI moving as well. I agree with Christina and think that it would be a great decision to relocate. Many things can come from this opportunity/idea you came up with. I really enjoyed your interview! Keep it up.
I might be the only dissenting opinion regarding MOSI moving to downtown. MOSI is a non-profit, and operates on a very tight budget. Significantly increasing the operating overhead of a non-profit, is likely to lead to insolvency.
ReplyDeleteCameron,
ReplyDeleteBeing from Miami, I had no clue what MOSI was. Obviously your target audience would be people that have lived there or live there now because I wouldn't know where the museum would get a greater amount of visitors. I would like to say that I love how you presented your interviews (lol at the mic). You always looked at the camera, had a good tone, and for the most part - articulated your thoughts well.
I didn't do this assignment, but if you want to look at my blog, here's the link:

Cameron you are a great interviewer. I like Natalie have no clue about the MOSI as I am from West Palm. Because of this I believe you chose your interview group well, focusing on people from the Tampa area, and specifically people who had been to the exam before. I also like your idea because it is different from mine and everyone else’s who seemed to focus on app and technology based ideas.
