Very Short Interview No.2

My opinion remains the same as it was the first time I interviewed Marty Schaffel. I remain very impressed with his ability as an entrepreneur and with his previous accomplishments.

1 What was your initial vision when you started your company? Several visions, wanted to start a company that was the opposite every place he hated of every place he worked. Place were people were treated well and equal. Everyone was equally treated.
2 When hiring individuals, what did you look for in an employee? Looked for people who were honest, motivated, excited about getting up everyday and making a difference. People who had initiated.
3 In what ways did you advertise and market your business in order to attract customers? Was in 1979 therefore done through mailings, making phone calls, going to different businesses.
4 In what areas of the world do you do business? United States, Canada, Asia, Africa, Europe, South America.

I was able to come up with much more in depth and thoughtful questions after taking this course. I also felt as if I had a better understanding for his answers.

  1. Hey

I totally get where you're coming from when you say you were able to ask more in depth questions. For me, it was not because I had been in this class longer, but because I have had more time to flesh out the idea of my business. I really liked the questions you asked, and I think they will help you move your venture forward. The answers by this entrepreneur make him sound like a stand up guy.

I attached a link to my second interview if you want to check it out: http://jrozent3003.blogspot.com/2016/04/very-short-interview-part-2.html

  2. Hi Cameron,

I wasn't able to interview an entrepreneur but I agree with you that this class has helped in coming up with in depth questions I would have asked. I think this assignment was very beneficial and was disappointed that I couldn't fit it into my crazy schedule, so it is good to see when others have done well with it. I like the questions you chose and would have liked to met this entrepreneur myself. Great job!

  3. Cameron,

Great job on this assignment. I just want to immediately start off and say I like your question selection. By asking what his first initial vision was for the company we are able to get an insight look towards how this entrepreneur shaped his company based off the important factors we have learned this semester. These questions will for sure help you progress your venture. I unfortunately was not able to complete this assignment, but if you could take a look at my blog I would appreciate it: http://pljordan1994.blogspot.com
